At long last Jinx has made the long trek from his breeders home in MO to his new life in NYC! Since everyone wants pictures,
yet emails dont open the same for one and all, I have created a site for you to come check him out!
**Jinx's official debut is December 21, 2006!**
He is currently on house arrest per vets orders until he gets his final set of puppy shots on December 7th. (plus the two
weeks that it takes for them to kick in) Until then, he would love to see you at home!
The Jinx Log
Week One
Jinx made the flight from Missouri all by himself and arrived suprisingly placid and very eager to check out his new home.
He slept for the cab ride home from the airport, and was pretty groggy for about 2 hours afterward. Then he snapped out of
it and suddenly became a furry ball of energy! The never ending pep has yet to abate for even a moment.
He has discovered shoes are a delicacy, particularly the expensive ones. Lacoste shoes seem to be his personal fav, but he
is more then happy to munch on any of them, so long as they are designer (evident in that Bart's shoes have yet to be ravaged).
Unfortunately, he seems to have a bad sense of spatial relations. He seems to think he can boss around the cat. Who outweighs
him by a good, I dunno, 12-14 lbs. He chases her around the house yapping and hopping like a grasshopper, we are waiting for
her to strike back. So far she takes the abuse reluctantly but gracefully, kinda like a geriatric boxer might.
He also has yet to learn that human toes do not secrete milk (no matter how much he nibbles on them), drains and vacuums don't
eat puppies, and that it is uncouth to sleep in ones water bowl.
The First Month
Jinx has now ruled (or certainly tried to) the roost for a month. He has somehow completly terrified the cat into thinking
his minute self is actually capable of kicking her butt. Thankfully she has not thought about the fact she has claws.
housebreaking is almost there, constant observation is the key. He will indicate a need to go outside for about 30 sec, then
if you miss the cue...disaster strikes. But god bless him, he does try to warn and at least he uses the same spot for his
disasters making "wee wee pads" my new fav invention of all time.
Thanksgiving hijinx
Jinx joined us on our trip to upstate New York for the holiday season and was met with many, many new experiances. For instance,
steak. The very kindly (too kindly) grandfather of our host felt it his duty to sneak Mr. Jinx off into his tool shed to feed
him rather large slabs of very expensive steak. He must have enjoyed these tidbits so much he didnt feel it necassary to chew,
based on my observations made when the poor lil boy yakked it all back up on my sweater later. This will be his first and
last taste of human food.
Jinx also discovered that there is life beyond the city, and enjoyed playing in big piles of leaves more then anything
else I think. He also enjoyed the abundance of children to play with as well as the mysterious waterfall. (He couldnt figure
out if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but was quite obsessed all the same).
Finally, I would like to thank all of you for the gifts! He has more toys then I know what to do with, and more keep pouring
in everyday! I think I can safely say he doesnt need anymore toys for awhile, so I think we can all stop the spoiling process
before it gets worse! Our home is starting to look like a daycare center for over privileged dogs....
